Meet Sheun.
Sheun was born in Washington, DC to immigrant parents from Nigeria, and grew up in Prince George's County, MD. He attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA for undergraduate school. During his time at Carnegie Mellon, he quickly learned that campus organizations and community ministry efforts were true passions. This desire to impact change in the community ultimately led to his joining City Year Washington DC upon graduation to tutor and mentor elementary school students. After completing his corps year, he attended Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University for his master's in business administration in 2012.
Post graduation Sheun has worked at CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield in the Leadership Development Rotational Program and later in the technology operations space. He later entered the consulting world working at OCT Consulting supporting federal clients approaching transformation initiatives and later at Protiviti in the Technology Consulting practice focusing on developing cutting edge products that enhance IT and business processes for multiple clients.
All the while maintaining a great passion for community involvement through leading multiple community engagement efforts at his church in Silver Spring, MD, leading the Black Employee Networking Group at his office, and the scholarship program for local high school graduates. He desires to continue leaning into the same passion that took shape in undergrad of building meaningful communities.
